Introduction to reference management and knowledge organization: Citavi

Citavi is a reference management and knowledge organisation programme. This software is designed to support scholars and researchers in all phases of their research activities concerning literature and references.

Following issues will be discussed in this workshop.

  • Design of the programme (functions and program elements)
  • Knowledge of all necessary functions to be able to use the programme
  • Recording and organisation of references
  • Carry out researches
  • Implement results from web researches
  • Organise literature work
  • Preparing reference lists
  • Preparing publications

Please note that Citavi does not work very well on a Mac.

Trainer

Allison O’Reilly

Allison studied economics and sociology at the University of Freiburg, Germany. During her studies she worked for the student union as student service officer for two years. Allison joined the team of Research Services and Career Development at the University of Vienna in June 2010. She has built up and is further developing a service for international PhDs. Allison has held workshops for the Center for Doctoral Studies since 2011 and has organized several summer schools and trainings on topics such as career development, communication and time management.
