Getting Fit for PhD Funding: How to Write an Effective Grant Proposal
For early-stage researchers, securing funding for their dissertation project is a crucial challenge. With limited research funds and highly competitive selection processes, identifying the right funding bodies and crafting strong project applications are key to success. This workshop offers an overview of available funding bodies and support programs for (potential) early stage PhD candidates, highlighting the requirements and assessment criteria for each. Additionally practical tips on preparing a successful grant application will be provided. The main focus of the second part of the workshop will be on writing effective funding proposals. Participants will gain insights by stepping into the role of an evaluator of a project proposal. Comparing this with an official review will help identify the strengths and weaknesses of research proposals.
